Selected candidates will not be eligible for inter-Circle transfer, Corporate Centre posting, or foreign posting until promotion to SMGS-IV grade or completion of 12 years of service, whichever is later.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government, including an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD). Candidates with professional qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy are also eligible. The date of passing will be as mentioned on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the university or institute.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The age cut-off date is 31 December 2025. Candidates must be born not earlier than 1 January 1996 and not later than 31 December 2004 (both dates inclusive), making the effective age bracket 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation applicable as per the official notification: SC/ST candidates — 5 years; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) — 3 years; PwBD (General/EWS) — 10 years; PwBD (OBC) — 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST) — 15 years; Ex-Servicemen with 5 years of military service — 5 years. Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience as an officer (post-essential academic qualification) in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India, as of 31 December 2025. Candidates must submit a job profile certified by their existing or previous employer. If the job profile does not substantially match that of a Scale-I Generalist Officer of SBI, the application will be rejected at any stage of recruitment. Candidates working in SBI in a clerical or supervisory cadre, on a contract basis, or those who have resigned from officer grade in SBI or its Associate Banks are not eligible to apply.
Local Language Proficiency
Candidates must be proficient in at least one of the specified local languages of the Circle they are applying for. Candidates who have studied the relevant local language at the 10th or 12th standard level are exempt from the Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Others will be tested before appointment.
Salary and Pay
The starting basic pay for a Circle Based Officer (JMGS-I) is ₹48,480 per month as stated in the official notification. Selection Process
