Age Limit

The general age eligibility for Agniveer posts is 17½ years to 21 years as on 01 July 2026, i.e., candidates must be born between 01 October 2004 and 01 January 2008 (dates may vary slightly by post — verify from the individual post notification). Salary and Benefits

Agniveers receive a customised package with a fixed annual increment structure over the four-year service period:

From the monthly package, 30% is contributed to the Agniveer Corpus Fund; the Government of India contributes an equal matching amount. Additional allowances include Risk and Hardship, Ration, Dress, and Travel allowances as applicable to the post and deployment.

After the four-year engagement, approximately 25% of Agniveers may be considered for permanent enrolment into the regular Indian Army, based on merit, performance, and organisational requirements.

Selection Process

Selection is conducted in two phases:

Phase I – Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE)

A computer-based test conducted at designated examination centres. The CEE is tentatively scheduled between 01 June 2026 and 15 June 2026. Subjects covered vary by post but generally include General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning. Admission to the CEE is strictly on the basis of the Admit Card. Phase II – Recruitment Rally
