Salary and Pay
Selected candidates will be placed at a starting pay of ₹19,900 per month as per the Punjab Government pay rules (Level 2, 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix). This minimum pay is applicable for the first three years from the date of joining. After three years, pay progression follows standard Punjab Government service rules.
In addition to basic pay, candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other admissible allowances as per Punjab Government norms at the time of joining. The exact allowance amounts are governed by current government orders and are not fixed in the recruitment notification.
Selection Process
The selection is conducted in three stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to proceed to the next.
Stage I – Computer Based Test (CBT)
Paper I (Merit-based): 100 multiple-choice questions covering General Awareness (Indian Constitution, history, geography, economy of Punjab), Quantitative Aptitude, Mental Ability, English and Punjabi Language Skills, and Digital Literacy. This paper determines the merit list for shortlisting to Stage II.
Paper II (Qualifying): A Punjabi language test. Candidates must qualify this paper, but marks are not counted in the merit list. There is no negative marking for either paper. The answer key will be published after the exam; candidates can raise objections within 48 hours at a fee of ₹50 per objection.
Stage II – Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Candidates shortlisted on CBT Paper I merit are called for height measurement and physical fitness tests. Candidates not meeting the minimum height requirement are disqualified at this stage. Pregnant female candidates may request postponement of PST/PMT by submitting a medical certificate from a government hospital; one such opportunity is available within six months of delivery.
Stage III – Document Verification (DV)
