Vacancy Details
CRPF has notified 9,195 posts distributed across two categories:
- Constable (Technical & Tradesmen): 9,175 posts — Male: 9,096 | Female: 79
- Constable (Pioneer): 20 posts (All India basis)
Trade-wise vacancy distribution as per the official notification includes: Driver (3,176), Bugler (1,426), Cook (1,263), Painter (547), Tailor (739), Motor Mechanic Vehicle (141), Carpenter (83), Cobbler (32), Mason — Pioneer (20), Electrician — Pioneer (7), and several other trades. Female candidates are eligible for 79 posts across trades such as Brass Band, Bugler, Hair Dresser, Mali, Pipe Band, Painter, Tailor, and Water Carrier in select states and UTs.
10% of the total vacancies are earmarked for Ex-Servicemen (ESM). If suitable ESM candidates are unavailable, those seats will be filled from non-ESM candidates within the respective category. Technical & Tradesmen vacancies are allocated state/UT-wise on a domicile basis; candidates must hold a valid Domicile or Permanent Residence Certificate of the state/UT they apply for.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
The minimum qualification for most posts is Matriculation (Class 10 pass) from a recognised board or university. For the post of Constable (Driver), candidates additionally require a valid commercial driving licence. For Constable (Motor Mechanic Vehicle), one year of practical experience in the trade is required. For Mason and Electrician (Pioneer posts), one year of experience in the respective trade is required. Degrees or diplomas acquired through Open and Distance Learning recognised by UGC/DEB are valid if they were approved during the period of acquisition.
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)
- Constable (Technical & Tradesmen) — all trades except Driver: 18 to 23 years
- Constable (Driver): 21 to 27 years
Age relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years’ relaxation. OBC candidates get 3 years’ relaxation. Ex-Servicemen receive relaxation as per government rules (military service period deducted, plus 3 additional years). Age and educational qualifications are reckoned as on 01 January 2026.
Physical Standards
Male candidates must have a minimum height of 170 cm with an unexpanded chest of 80 cm and a minimum 5 cm expansion. Female candidates must have a minimum height of 157 cm. Height and chest relaxations apply for candidates from Scheduled Tribes, North-Eastern states, Garhwali, Kumaoni, Dogra, Maratha, and Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) regions as specified in the official notification.
These posts are not suitable for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates. No TA/DA is paid for appearing in any stage of the recruitment process.
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-3 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a basic pay range of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month. In addition to basic pay, they will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or free accommodation, Ration Money (approximately ₹3,500–₹4,000 per month as per prevailing rates), Risk/Hardship Allowance based on area of posting, Transport Allowance, Uniform and Laundry Allowance, and medical facilities for the employee and family under CGHS/Ayushman CAPF.
Selection Process
The recruitment follows a multi-stage process. All stages are qualifying; final merit is based on CBT marks only.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running and other physical tasks as per prescribed standards for male and female candidates.
- Physical Standards Test (PST): Height and chest measurement verification against prescribed norms.
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective-type test of 100 marks divided into four sections of 25 marks each — General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi (candidate’s choice). Duration: 2 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer applies.
- Trade/Skill Test: Practical test specific to the trade applied for.

Admit cards will not be sent by post. Candidates must download them from the official recruitment website. Submission of an application or issue of an admit card does not confer any right of selection.
